We took our first family trip with the kids! It ended up being even better than I expected.
We stayed at the All Ritmo Resort and Waterpark in Cancun, Mexico.
Our flight in was delayed, so we arrived to the resort late in the evening… my initial impression of the resort (which was based on the lobby and our rooms) was that it had an older more “homey” vibe.. like the feeling of a timeshare/apartment style, instead of luxurious hotel. With that being said, our view from our room was amazing! I loved waking up and walking onto the balcony to sit and watch the waves and the sunrise (since our little one liked to get up extra early some mornings! lol)
Over the next 7 days we enjoyed the food and amenities the resort had to offer, as well as did two excursions off the resort.
They have three restaurants; one being a pasta/pizza option, the other one changing themes each night, as well as their Buffet style restaurant. They also had a snack bar open throughout the day and at late night, with burgers, hot dogs, chips and dip, etc. I would say the food was 8/10 overall.
In terms of amenities their pool was really nice and I loved that it was never too busy, so the kids were always able to enjoy and splash around. They also have a waterpark with a splash pad for little ones, a mini putt course, soccer field and basketball court. They do have a spa and kids club but we didn’t use either of those. We also really enjoyed their Michael Jackson dinner and show; that was a fun experience.
The beach was nice; sand was so soft and the water was great! The staff was very on top of clearing any seaweed throughout the day from the beach, so that was another plus.
We did two excursions off the resort… one was a shopping tour to a local market where we bought some souvenirs as well as did a tequila tasting. I am a tequila fan, so I enjoyed learning some more about it and tasting some different options I have never seen or heard of (like chocolate tequila! which was actually really yummy and we bought a bottle to bring home). Then our tour guide took us to a local restaurant for nachos and tacos. =)
The second excursion we did was to Isla Mujeres. Isla Mujeres is an island in the Caribbean Sea, just off the coast of Cancun, Mexico. We ate some yummy food, relaxed on the beaches and took a golf cart tour around the island to a beautiful lookout point. This was one of my favourite days of our trip and I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Cancun.
Overall, our trip was so fun and filled with a lot of amazing memories! The All Ritmo Resort and Waterpark was a fun and laid-back destination, perfect for families. I cant wait for our next family vacation!
