A Relaxing Girls’ Getaway to British Columbia: A Tale of Bridges, Parks, and Unwinding

There’s something truly special about stepping away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, especially as busy moms. Recently, my sister-in-law/one of my besties and I took a much-needed girls’ trip to British Columbia. This trip was all about relaxation, fun, and creating unforgettable memories.

After unpacking and settling into our condo on Thursday afternoon, I was immediately in awe. The view of the mountains in the distance, was simply stunning. Waking up to this postcard-like scene was amazing, and the sunsets were absolutely beautiful.

The rest of our trip was just as incredible; from the awe-inspiring Capilano Suspension Bridge to a yummy lunch in Stanley Park, and everything in between, here’s a recap of our delightful adventure.

Day 1: The Adventure Begins at Capilano Suspension Bridge
Our first full day of our trip kicked off with a visit to one of Vancouver’s most iconic landmarks—the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Walking across the 450 feet long bridge, suspended 230 feet above the Capilano River, was both exhilarating and serene. The sway of the bridge combined with the stunning views below was a perfect start to our adventure.
We spent the afternoon exploring the park’s beauty and attractions, including the Cliffwalk. The Cliffwalk, with its narrow walkways & glass floors, gave us another thrilling perspective of the canyon.
Overall, we spent about 2hours at the Capilano Suspension Bridge park & although I would say the admission was on the pricier side, it was a great experience &I would recommend visiting.

Dinner, Drinks and lot of Laughs
Of course, no girls’ trip is complete without a fun night out. That evening, we dressed up and headed out to Cactus Club for dinner, followed by drinks at Cabana Lounge. We laughed, danced, and simply enjoyed each other’s company; without the usual worries and responsibilities of being moms.

Day 2: Lunch in Stanley Park
The next day, we decided to slow down the pace with a relaxing lunch in Stanley Park. We ate at Stanley Park Brewpub and Restaurant . Located at the Beach Avenue entrance of Stanley Park, the Brewpub & Restaurant is tucked within the pitch & putt, lawn bowling, and tennis courts. Despite the lively activity surrounding us, there was still a sense of tranquility.
We enjoyed our lunch on the patio; I opted for the hot chicken sandwich, topped with aged cheddar and served with a side of crispy garlic fries and Courtney had the fish and chips, a classic dish that they executed perfectly.
We both really enjoyed our meals and would highly recommend the Stanley Park Brewpub & Restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

Unwinding with wine, Hot tubbing and Pampering
The rest of the day was dedicated to ultimate relaxation; after lunch, we spent the rest of the afternoon soaking in the hot tub, letting the warm water melt away any lingering stress. Later, we indulged in some pampering with face and foot masks. It was nice to treat ourselves to some well-deserved self-care.
We sipped on wine, chatted about everything under the sun, and shared countless laughs.

Reflections on a Perfect Getaway
This trip was more than just a break from our daily routines; it was a reminder of the importance of self-care and the value of strong, supportive friendships. As moms, we often put everyone else’s needs before our own, but this getaway was a chance to prioritize ourselves and our bond.

British Columbia provided the perfect backdrop for our adventure. From the thrilling heights of the Capilano Suspension Bridge to the serene beauty of Stanley Park and the pure joy of unwinding with good drinks and pampering, every moment was perfect.

As we headed back home, we felt rejuvenated and ready to dive back into our roles as moms with a renewed sense of energy and happiness. This trip was a testament to the power of a girls’ getaway, and I’m already looking forward to our next adventure together.
Here’s to more laughs, more wine, and more unforgettable memories!
